I’ll attempt to be brief in this intro, but I’ll make no promises, as I try to keep the breach of promises to a minimum.
My Academic Background: I’m currently pursuing a B.A. in Religious Studies and a Certificate in Religion and Conflict at Arizona State University, after originally pursuing a B.S. in Economics and a Minor in Religious Studies. The tale of my transition from a B.S. to a B.A. isn’t really that astounding. Both fields are social sciences, studying data and human behavior – and truthfully, the switch had a lot to do with the fact that taking a myriad of classes which would amount to a Minor in Math simply didn’t appeal to me. I prefer writing papers, which explains this blog.
I am incredibly interested in the academic pursuit of religious studies. Why? Because simply put, there’s very little in this world that remains untouched by some sort of religious structure or faith system. Religion takes form in a large variety of shapes and sizes, allowing for an endless pursuit of religious knowledge.
This is my passion, and my purpose for this blog. I’m by no means an expert on the subject of religion, or any subject for that matter. Thus, I hope we can search for answers to some of society’s most complex questions and learn more about the world in which we live, together.
Welcome to Religion Press – I hope you enjoy my ramblings, and I look forward to your comments and questions!
